One
day back when I was about 10 years old my cousin (more like my sister)came
running up to me and asked me if I wanted to come over to her big sister's
house (the big/little sister program if your wondering) to spend the night.
Well I was hesitant at first because she has been telling me for the last
few days how this house is haunted. I soon said yes because I was very
curious to see the so called haunted house. Well we arrived at the house
and as soon as I saw it well it looked like it could very well be haunted!
We got settled in at the house and my cousin and I went out to play around.
After awhile it was about time for bed so we got ready, I remembered from
what my cousin had said that along time ago a young boy about the age of
about 3 or 4 lived in this house and died when he was playing in the front
of the house right under the over hang of the roof it was winter so very
long and thick ice cicles were hanging from the roof, when one fell off
and hit him in the head and almost cut it right off! Well I thought she
was basically full of it so I didn't believe her. Before we went to bed
my cousin's (Emily) big sister told us the story of the little boy who
haunted the house she said that he is very misteveous and likes to play
games and get in to trouble much like any other boy his age. He like to
take things and move them around but he really likes to take nick nacks
off of my shelves and put them on the floor next to my bedroom door to
tell me that he was there and then she said but enough of that go to bed,
I finally did after about two hours of being nervous and a little scared.
I woke up suddenly when I heard what sounded like a toy train I thought
that maybe it was Emily's big sister's daughter messing around so I went
back to sleep. I woke up the next morning and asked Emily if Lucy had a
toy train set and was she playing with it last night she said no that's
the little boy he plays with it all the time at night! Then she showed
me where he used to have it in the cellar of Lucy's room and she said that
Lucy never sleeps in there she always sleeps in the closet because she
is afraid of the him and she feels the closet keeps her safe, and the only
time she sleeps in her room is when I come over to spend the night with
her. I thought whoa! Well that's one of my stories...

I'll
share one of my more frightening experiences. I at the time was 14 years
old. One evening my brother, who was 18 at the time, was getting ready
to go out somewhere for the evening. He was leaving the house and walking
towards his car which was parked beside the house. My family lived on 40
acres so around the house were open fields. It was dark out at the time
my brother was leaving. He walked up to the car to open the door when all
of a sudden he heard a strange noise, like a woman sobbing. He turned to
look out across the fields in the back yard (the yard light was more in
the front of the house so he couldn't see much). It had been a cloudy night
so the moon was not out to shed light. As he he was trying to see what
was going on he noticed off in the distance on a small hill two glowing
dots. He thought maybe somebody was trespassing(which had happened before)
so he started to walk out towards the commotion thinking he'd scare whoever
it was away. As my brother got closer he had a strange feeling come over
him, like he shouldn't be there. The two glowing dots seemed to look like
eyes staring right through him. He turned to leave and he heard a soft
sob, like a female sobbing again. He bolted towards the car, jumped in
and left. Now the story turns towards me. That evening when my brother
had left, my mom, dad and I were in the house. We had no idea what had
just happened with my brother. Nothing abnormal happened until later on
in the night. It was around 3:00am when I woke to the sound of my window
making a vibrating noise. It seemed like it was shaking really fast. In
my half asleep stooper I thought maybe it was really windy outside. When
it was windy my window would make a cracking type nose anyway so I just
ignored it. I tried to go back to sleep when my window made the same noise
but it seemed louder, almost like somebody was knocking on the glass. I
thought maybe there was a big storm outside so I got up, went out into
the kitchen and opened the front door only to find a calm, still night.
So I started to get a bit scared. I walked back to my room just in time
to hear the window shake again. As I looked towards my window I could vaguely
make out this mist like substance churning around and it had eyes! This
happened in a split second, but I could see this thing was looking right
in at me and then it was gone. The eyes weren't as bright as my brother
would later describe, but they were eyes. I ran out into the kitchen with
my heart beating out of socket and just stood there. Within seconds I heard
a real soft voice say my name "Stephanie" and I almost lost all sanity.
I covered my ears with my hands and closed my eyes. I felt a chill come
over me for about 10 seconds and then it was over. I finally calmed down
and sat at the kitchen table. I stayed there until it was time to get ready
for school that day. I didn't tell my parents or anyone else about what
happened. My parents were very religious and I knew if I told this story
to them they would dismiss it as "my imagination", or maybe even get angry
with me. It wasn't until a couple days later that I overheard my brother
telling his story of what happened to him to my parents. My parents concluded
in their minds that is was a wild animal out and about and not to worry.
But I knew that it was something of the paranormal and kept my story a
secret from them. Nothing like that happened again at my mom and dads house.
It was a one shot deal.

When
I was a very young girl (before I started school) we lived in an old and
rather strangely laid out house. The dining room was at the center of the
house. Two of the bedrooms, the kitchen, and the living room, opened directly
into it without benefit of any hallways. One night the rest of my family
was watching television in the living room and for some reason I was in
my bedroom. When I left the bedroom to go join my family, I saw an apparition
on the other side of the dining room table. I stopped dead in my tracks
just outside my bedroom door and stared at the form. It was like a white
mist, but fairly dense, and in the vague form of a person standing. I couldn't
believe my eyes so I started "testing" what I was seeing by checking my
surroundings. It was very dark in the house, the only light came from the
television in the living room and it faced the other direction. Visually
everything was dark everywhere I looked except in that one spot. I wasn't
at all frightened and called to my family that there was an "angel" in
the dining room and for them to come and see it. My sisters who were in
their late teens finally came in, turned on the lights and told me that
it was an afterimage from looking at a light and then going into the dark.
Well, after images move with your eyes and this image did not. I know what
I saw and it was a stationary form, freestanding, with a definate shape.
I told my mother about this experience when I was older and we had moved.
She didn't remember it, but told me that she didn't doubt that I saw something
since she was convinced the house was haunted. She said that sometimes
in the middle of the night she would feel someone sit on the foot of the
bed and no one was there.
